The International Workshop on Deep Learning and its Applications on Small/Medium-scaled Mobile Multimedia (DLA-S3M)

In recent years, deep learning has been witnessed to have a profound and lasting impact on various research domains, including computer vision, speech, audio, natural language processing, financial analyses, etc. Sophisticated deep learning models with tremendously deep structures and various unique architectures (e.g., residual networks, generative adversarial networks, etc.) receive much research attention in the past few years. However, large-scale datasets are widely acknowledged to be indispensable for comprehensive training of these models, by which their prominent generalization capabilities can become feasible. It is also generally accepted that, such large-scale datasets may not always be available in many research domains. Therefore, these up-to-date deep learning models may need pruning, revision, or even re-design, to be capable to cope with small / medium-scale datasets.

In the DLA-S3M workshop, novel deep learning models and their training algorithms to solve small / medium-scale learning problems are emphasized. Novel techniques, including deep learning models, deep learning algorithms, as well as deep learning-based small/medium-scale mobile multimedia applications driving by these specialized models and algorithms will be included.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

New deep learning architectures for handling small/medium-sized learning problems

New deep learning algorithms for handling small/medium-sized learning problems

New latent features construction schemes in small/medium-sized learning problems

Novel applications of cutting-edge deep learning techniques in small/medium-sized mobile multimedia

Deep learning-based applications in small/medium-sized learning problems based on visual data

Deep learning-based applications in small/medium-sized learning problems based on audio signal

Deep learning-based applications in small/medium-sized learning problems based on other commonly seen types of mobile multi-media

The workshop organizers cordially invite submissions of original research work to The International Workshop on Deep Learning and its Applications on Small/Medium-scaled Mobile Multimedia (DLA-S3M 2020), in conjunction with The 13th EAI International Conference on Mobile Multimedia Communications, to be held on July 22-23, 2020 in Harbin, China. Paper formatting instructions can be found here. Please note that paper length is 4-6 pages, and the review process will be single blind.
